Hi i had my betta for a few week now and 2 or 3 days ago i noticed this white fluffy thing on its head, I didnt take much noticed because i thought it was a bit of fluff but now its still there. Any ideas of what its is?
Bit off topic but my betta started making a bubble nest not very good 1 though but it was his first try. |

Urgh
Two most likely ailments when white fluffy growth is involved are; cotton wool disease (fungal) or columnaris (bacterial) Its very hard to guess though, you could use a broad spectrum treatment if you can't suss out which it is (unlikely) with a little googling.... Maybe look for a treatment containing phenoxyethanol. |

I cant get a close up i can only get one that you can hardly see the Betta. the white thing got bigger. I went to the pet shop on Saturday and bought some stuff cant remember what its called but when i got home the white thing was gone not even a mark. So i did a 100% water change and boiled all rocks and plants. Is this normal to disappear?

Its peculiar, and he may seem okay, but always be prepared, diseases sometimes come back, bigger and badder.
