Ok now that I have my discus, I am contemplating my next move, which will be a 150 gallon oddball tank. Heres some of the fish I want to stock it with...
![]() ![]() ![]() possibly, but very expensive ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() so basically the majority of fish will come from the same store. They are great oddballs IMO, and will cost about 600 dollars in all. |

Cool stuff clearly you like your knifes...
Is that a duck/duckbill knife? And a fowleri catfish, nice choice. |

It's called a dolphin at the site I want to order from, but it looksa like a duckbilled knife would look like so that may be another common name.
thanks Supposedly its an apurensis. A very close relative of fowleri though, good eye. http://www.scotcat.com/articles/article94.htm This post has been edited by ArauraDiscus: Jul 27 2007, 05:09 PM |

Have a look for scientific names for the fish otherwise few people will be able to help you.

None have scientific names except for the catfish which has been posted. The other ones are so new or rare that the site hasn't found their names out yet and has given them their own names.
O and the plecos are Sultan, King Tiger, and Goldie Plecos. I'll post their scientific names later. This post has been edited by ArauraDiscus: Jul 28 2007, 03:05 AM |

Pic one is a Steatogenys sp. I think maybe duidae like has been said?
Pic two, Sternarchorhamphus sp. maybe oxyrhynchus or muelleri? I could easily be wrong and wouldn't be surprised if I was This post has been edited by jayjay: Jul 28 2007, 07:38 PM |

Geeze, that Albino Amazon Dolphin (4th pic) will grow to 3.5' long (saw it in an Amazon program on the Discovery Channel) and require very, very specialized care (near perfect water conditions, very strict diet, ect.), not to mention the fact that it's $400 and a very difficult fish to keep. I wouldn't recommend keeping it with that Orange Cat (the catfish), as they are pigs. All the other fish look great, by the way!
Good Luck with the tank! GobyMaster |
