Hello my name is Chris and I’m from Somerset UK
I'm new here so thought I'd introduce myself, and hope to be able to make and contact some new friends in the process Unfortunately or fortunately I’m a newbie at fish keeping and i wish to start by setting up a tropical freshwater community tank I have joined here after reading so much good advice from your forum and pinned advice for newbie’s, I think that more research will help me in the long run and have printed a lot of the articles off, a couple quid in paper and ink will save me time, effort and stress in the long run. Compared to the advice I got from a local 'so called' specialist shop keepers, I have learnt x10's more on here in a few hours. But I still would like some general advice and a chat, I don’t know if anyone would like to give me an e-mail address or something, as I don’t know anyone locally who is a keeper and could question them. I was after some advice and what they would recommend, from best shops or stores locally, prices and most importantly I was after a 'shopping list' and good places to go. Any advice would be greatly received. Chris |

Hi Chris
 I'm new here too, the best advice for starting out is to check out the fishless cycling information. I wish I had known that earlier! It's really a massive aquarists club, and any questions you have will get you knowledgeable advice. I too have learned plenty of information in a short time. Good luck! Steve |
