I decided to make a 'fuge' out of the second compartment of my nano cube (10 gallon). I recieved some chaeto in the post yesterday, acclimatised it for a little while then plonked it in, i have an 11w Compact Flourescent bulb lighting it from the back.

Today when i went to change some of the water i poured it into the back, like normal and suddenly loads of little bits of chaeto came through my pump and into the main tank. It looks like bits of my cheato are moulting.

Is this normal for new chaeto? It has stopped now but if i disturb the water too much it will probably happen again...
