I'm in a delimma here.I've got a firemouth and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on tankmates that wouldn't get,well,eaten alive.He seems rather vicious at feeding time so I'm somewhat worried.

pleco's and some other catfishes will be fine with him. Mabie add a female firemouth. How big is he, how big is the tank- If the tank is big enough (over 50 gallons) you could add another type of cichlid- Sajica, Blue Acara there arte lots to choose from. If you add another cichlid it should be a similar size to the firemouth.

Yeh blue acaras are a good choice with firemouths.
