Hello all,

I recently just got back into having aquariums and was wondering if anyone had any opinions or insight as to how well african knife fish and black ghost knife fish would get along in the same tank? I just set up an acrylic 65 tall and would like to keep a few african knife's, a black ghost, and a pair of upside-down catfish in it once it gets seasoned.
Has anyone had any problems or heard of problems with them together?
Thanks,
Dave

You'll need a bigger tank, BGK's need atleast 80 alone.

yeah you wont be able to keep a bgk in that tank, considering it is a tall tank as well which im guessing means it is not as long. Bgks need at least a 4ft tank (i think).

But otherwise bgks will get on fine with africans.

I've often wondered the same thing.

By saying they will get on find, does this mean that African Knife Fish don't emit an electric pulse?

I wouldn't mix species of knifes together
you'll end up with one or both with no eyes,
or worse.

No they both do, but they can alter the frequency of the pulse to stop it "jamming" the others signal smile.gif.
