I just used up my last few bucks on 2 cichlids, a blue and a yellow, the blue seems healthy but the yellow is trying its best to swim but it keeps falling and then ends up laying on the sand
He is breathing sort of hard the water temperature is about 80 and theres an all you can eat goldfish in there what is wrong? Please help... |

Tank size? Water stats? Ammonia, nitrites, Ph? Will be much easier to help if we had those things.

We need the stats for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate. Did you cycle your tank before adding the fish?
If you have an Oscar in a 30G than you are overstocked not even including the other fish. It needs 55-75G all to itself. And you should not be using feeder goldfish. They aren't healthy and can carry diseases. |

Im really scared for them I have an albino oscar that is still doing well the 2 new cichlids sound like africans so they should be kept with other african cichlids and require a much higher PH. if the tank they came from had this then they have probably had a PH shock when put in your tank. the goldfish or the oscar shouldnt be in a 30G either....... |

Yep sounds like ph shock to me..
Your ph is probably anywhere from 6.5-7.0 and the ph the fish were in is probably anywhere from 7.5-8.0 They probably are dying of shock.. the only way you'd MAYBE be able to save the other one is if you can get it into water with the same ph it came in.. I don't think you know what the ph it came in was at.. Sorry, but I think your other fish is going to die too.. |
