do you ever research BEFORE you buy???
blue acara gets way too big for a 25 gallon. what was the point in asking people what fish would be best in your tank if your jus gonna ignore them??? |

"TANK: A tank measuring 36” (91 cm) with a volume of 35 gallons (132 L) is sufficient." "SIZE: To 8" (20 cm) in nature, although rarely larger than 6.3" (16 cm) in captivity" "They would be very satisfied with a large aquarium (at least 32 gallons) that has many hiding places" "Maximum Size: 6 inches" "Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons" "SIZE: True Acaras are larger than other Acaras, ranging from 7-12" (18-30 cm) in length. Other Acaras are no larger than 6" (15 cm) and no smaller than 2.5" (6.4 cm). " "TANK: Smaller Acara-related species can kept in a 24” (61 cm) or 20 gallon (75 L) tank, while the larger types (4-6" or more) can be kept in a 32” (81 cm) or 30 gallon (114 L) tank." "Males can be distinguished by red markings on the tails and fins." (none on mine by the way...) who would i rather belive some lil punk whooz probly 10 and never owned fish and some gui named Josiah whooz tryin to go along with sounding smart or a whole bunch of websites that were probly made by an expert or someone who noez more den dis lil wanab fish keeper...??you decide? Lol I was just trying to help, you don't have to get mad. And I wouldn't chance the cories with one in that size of tank.

if you had done research you would kno jus how wrong you are!! and whats the point in copying loads of text that backs up what were saying and proves your tanks too small? here ill try a simple example for ya. imagine living in a cupboard the rest of your life. youd survive but would you be happy? LMAO. you think everysite out there is made by an expert? ANYONE could make a site. even you and imagine how wrong and misleading that would be oh yea and ive never kept fish your right. i jus come here cos i like to think i do!! busted damnit. If an acara was to eat a cory then the acara would be at risk too. Cory would erect its fins and that would choke the acara and probably kill it. I remember being told that the fins are quite sharp and sometimes when they are put it a bag to be transported home they can cut that bag if moving about to franticly.

I came home with 2 blue acara's today, though I know what i'm doing. They will go with other cichlids mainly, in a 90g.

I'm guessing by the tags that said they only grow to 6'' you bought it from petsmart?
If so they don't take fish back or take fish in at all. Sometimes people may sound abbrasive, but in the end everyone only wants what's best for you and your fish.. nobody wants to see you waste money on a fish that will probably be stunted and live a very shortened lifespan. I used to overstock tanks like a mad man.. people would keep telling me to move fish and move fish but I always ignored them thinking the fish would be fine.. Now 6 months later.. every single fish I had in that overstocked tank is dead because of my stupborness. I wasted $100s of dollars on fish because I didn't want to listen to people that knew more then me about fish. In the end people are just trying to help you, but it can be frustrating when people try to give you help a few times, and you just try to give reasons why it will work out.. |

Doesn't surprise me that yet again Discuslova is in the thick of an argument and is dishing out the insults. Basically I think he's a wannabe fishkeeper who actually knows nothing and posts text from other sites and when he gets picked up on talking rot he starts giving out personal insults. Word of advice Discus, stop getting angry, listen and learn and stop being rude or I feel you'll get banned. |
