There is this "stuff" that is on the glass of my girlfriends tank and I'm not sure what it is. Part of it is clinging to the glass, and the other half waves with the flow of the water. I'd compare it to the size of a hangnail.

Sounds more like Black beard algae. is it on the ornaments and plants as well? It should also be on the filter if it is this algae.

No, its not beard algae, I've seen that before. This stuff is a beige brown color with just individual pieces on the glass, nothing clumped like algae.

From what I remember, no tenticles, they just looked like hangnails. I can check again next time I go over though.
