Angel Fish Advice Please

Hi,
I bought two 3" angel fish a couple of weeks ago dont know what sex they are but one is defo female as she looks as if she is going to lay any moment & is protecting an area of the tank ready.The other one is constantly with her.
My question is as I have never had angels before is do the eggs get fertilized by a male once the have been layed or are they already fertilized before laying?
Any tips on sexing them as well

angels are imposible to sex unless you seel them spawn.

and the eggs are layed first then ferilised by the male...
Son`t be surprised if the eggs go white and get eaten by the parents, this happens alot for various reasons

you must have a great tank for them to spawn so soon,

Sounds to me they are about ready to spawn! Congrats! Thats exactly the way ours go when they are ready to spawn we have 2 breeding pairs in the tank! Sexing is really difficult we could only really tell once they had paired off and started to lay.

your male will follow her up and down the line of eggs fertilising them and then will fan them to keep them oxygenated dotn worry if they look like they are eating the eggs cause if tehy aren't sticking on wherever they laid they will try to put them back on. also if its their first lay they might well eat the eggs or if you have other fish in the tank and they feel threatened!

Just going on how our pairs are and what I've seen with them! hope that helped!

Thanks for that ,she has settled in real quick & the tank conditions must be to her liking,only hope the other one is a bloke!!

I`ve just started my tank today and i`m wanting a couple of pairs of angels

Would love it if they spawned

what sort of angels are they?
