Just wondering what others put in their grow out tanks besides fry. Do you put in live/fake plants to give the babies hiding places? If you use plants what types have you had good success with?

all i have is a pile of hygrophelia polysperma, a sponge filter and some red ramshorn snails and a heater.

Well, I have a few live plants, like Java moss and a couple small Java Ferns, some ruffled sword and a moss ball. A sponge filter, some snails, and five baby guppies.

In my 30g grow-out, I have a Penguin 100 power filter and a bunch of silk plants... mostly this kind!
In my other grow-out and individual tanks for the fry, I use Java Ferns. I opted for silk plants in the large tank because I wanted plants that would stay in place and not drift around. |
