I saw flame tetra for the first time last week and as I knew nothing about them I asked if they were nippy at all .
He stated that they could be but nothing I have read about them since suggests that. Can they be nippy or was he talking cr*p.Id like to get some but would like to be sure before deciding which tank they went into
ps--I know I need at least a group of 6

They certainly aren't terrors but they can nip, and being front toothed, a small nip can do a bit of damage. In a large enough group, they usually keep themselves to themselves. I might not keep them with slow moving fish with long trailing fins but they are, on the whole, very peaceful.
