I've been wanting one of these guys forever, and I finally got one!! My LFS got this little guy in a while age and he was always in the very back corner of one of the tanks on the very top shelf so no one ever noticed him... except me, of course shifty.gif

I had estimated him to be bigger than he actually is (the size of a honey gourami) so he's going to be growing out some in a 5 gallon until he's big enough to go in the 29 gallon without being eaten by my bichir.
His name is Marius, at least until I can accurately sex him... he might be a she. whistling.gif

In the 10 gallon, before he demonstrated why anabantoids can't be kept together by biting one of my honey gourami's ventral fins (which I like to call "feeler thingies"). Thankfully, no one was injured... poor Mr. gourami just wanted to inspect the newcomer tongue2.gif

In the 5 gallon... ignore the water stains, they're on the back and sides where it's hard to reach and wipe them off.

He's great, I'd love one of these. What else are you going to keep him with?

That's a fine specimin. They look fantastic as they grow larger.

I must admit, I keep my two with a pair of Golden (I think) Gouramis and there have been no aggression issues at all... Dunno.gif

The tank he's going into has a senegal bichir, a bumblebee catfish, an African butterfly fish, and a pair of angels. The angels may have to go back to the pet shop if things get too cramped or if there are aggression issues, but we'll see how it goes. It's going to be a while before he's big enough to live in the same tank with my bichir tongue2.gif

His eyes are black like his spots, but my camera can't handle taking pics with the flash off indoors, so red eye it is (or blue eye, rather)

He's more confident and willing to come out into the open now, so I got some better pics biggrin.gif
