100%, they are the same species so its not even cross-breeding

I assume that the longer fins are recessive genes, so I would expect 2nd gen to exhibit 'longfinned' characteristics. |

You can expect more short fins, but the fry will carry the longfin gene, That isn't saying that the next generation will be longfin. You would have to breed one of the offspring with the adult longfin when it got older and then you would have more of a chance to get some longfin fry. Even breeding two longfins, with the gene being recessive you will still have a chance at some shortfin fry.
