Hi everyone! Well my name is Stephen and I am from Hawaii. To start things off, I recently, as everyone of you had at one time, become addicted to fish. The past few days, I have been educating myself on the proper upkeep of fish. I had recently bought a 10 gallong aquarium and I think it is absolutely beautiful, at least in terms of my own standards. Now for anyone that has a lick of experience, prepare to shudder. One night in an alcohol induced state of mind, I had decided along with my roommate that I would by a betta fish. Little did I know that this fish would lead me to upgrading three times! I bought the fish at the local Walmart. That was a little over a month ago. I will admitt that I have gone into this hobby blindly, and foolishly come to public forums to admit mistakes. A week ago, I would not have known that there was a "cycle". I am saying this with all honesty. So you know what and who you are dealing with. So, as to avoid a certain E-death from you fellow much more experienced Aquarists, I am studying and being awed in the sheer intricacy of your knowledge and expertice. So, in like wise manner, as an apprentice I am going to take the knowledge passed on by you and my own research to further my competance. Keep an eye out for me, so to speak I am still taking my first steps, and I will mature into a person that has some knowledge of fish.
In short, if you didnt feel like reading all that, I am a newbie, I am learning, I am the neanderthal of the fish keepers' world. |
