I have 3 mickey mouse platies and two mystery snails. One of my platies is pregnant. Are all my fish safe in that size tank? I have a tank for the fry until they are grown. I have a 12 gallon tank but will that be enough for all of my fish?

Yeah, your fine. You could probably put a few more palties in there. Is it cycled? How long has it been set up?

Yeah, but it'd be better to put her in a seperate tank, as the babies will do better in a bigger space, and the mom wont be as stressed. What size is the fry tank? Is it cycled? How long has it been set up?

Well I have a little 3 gallon that I could use for the fry. It hasn't been on for maybe a month or so. Would that do?

It would be better for her. More space. But you would need to put some of your filter media in a new filter( prob a small internal, or a sponge filter) so your tnak is cycled. Make sure you keep the ffeeding's down a first few day's so you dont get any spikes. Got any pic's so i cang uess how far she is along?

most people will tell u the main rule for fish!
one inch of fish for every gallon of water! and by one inch i mean a slender fish like a guppy or maybe a platty! and if its fatter like my puffers i add an extra inch or so of room to that. take in mind a tank with fewer fish is easier to maintain.

^ add on to your 1 inch rule. That is the "Golden Rule", but it has MANY exceptions. It dosent count for cichlids, plecos, puffers, and other fsih. I "Golden Rule" seem's like it was only really meant for livebearers.

My 3 gallon has a filter system. I could try to get pics. It's really hard because she has been really shy lately. Staying under this rock I have. I'll try!
