I just picked up a new betta the other day for my 2gal hex. He looked great in the store, but I noticed yesterday he had started to get some white stuff on him. It's even worse today. I'm currently treating him with Pimafix (the only thing I could find to treat fungus at the LFS). The tank is now heated, and is at 78 degrees. What else do you suggest I do to treat him? The tank is uncycled, but has a running undergravel filter with pump, should I just unplug that for now to keep stress to a minimum and just keep up with water changes? Any suggestions would be great, I don't want to lose this guy like I did my last one... cry1.gif

What does the white stuff look like? Is it cotteny, or does it look more like grains of salt? If it's cotteny looking, pimafix, or even just daily 100% water changes with salt should take care of it. I would only do a water change every 3 days when treating with pimafix though. Daily water changes will stress him out a lot more than nessicary(sp). If it is like grains of salt, it's itch. I have not had any personal experience with that so I can't really give you any advice on that. Good luck with your little buddy! Salt will help out either way though. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons per gallon and that should help you out.
