interpet undergravel filter !

could anyone please help me fit my pump which has 2 ports blowing air and a tube coming from one which i assume goes into the top of the pipe which is part of the filtration system anyone shine any light on the matter ??

The plastic plate with slots in it goes under the gravel.
There should be two tubes that go into the plate. One is thin and has the air line on it. The other is thicker and is for the airbubbles to come out of.

The other type of uplift tube is about 20mm in diameter and fits into the plate. It has a curved top piece that has a small hole in it for the airline to attach to a hard thin bit of pipe. On the bottom of the pipe is an airstone, blue, brown or white stone that creates fine bubbles.

The air goes down the thin pipe and comes up the thicker pipe. As it comes up it draws water up with it. Water is drawn through the gravel, under the plate, and out through the uplift tube. The dirt and debris is trapped in the gravel and you use a gravel cleaner to clean it out of the gravel.
