so... i have a general question and i'm wondering if ppl will be able to answer it for me. i noticed that the doctor has a bit of cotton growing on him.... so i changed him from the temporary tank to a 2.5gallon with new water and started a pimafix treatment for him. he seems to be really lethargic and i'm wondering if that is normal?? blink.gif i'm also concerned too about his gills... they seem really red on the outside... i'll post pics

Can you post your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, as red gills can be gills flukes to bad water quality.
The cotton growing on him where on the fish.

hmm... thanks for the link... i dont think the doctor has that much on him.. u can only see it when the sunlight hits him tongue2.gif

everything seemed to test in the normal range... and i made sure to leave the water out for alteast 12 hours... i've added in salts and water conditioner before i put him in, cleaned all rocks with aquarium salts.. i essentially sterilized everything before i put him into his new home... there weird part is, i bought him with red gills... so i thought it was normal.. but i'll keep checking daily to make sure nothing changes too much smile.gif i'll keep him on the pimafix for the recommended time cause he's day 2 of 5. the lfs that i got him from... a lot of the fish were sick there and i'm hoping with a little more tlc, he'll be a happy, healthy little guy smile.gif

i'll post a pic of another little guy i bought too when i bought the doctor... he's not sick, but i have him on the pimafix treatment as well just incase and his gills are a bit red, but his water tests normal too... could it just be stress?

what i'd really like to know is: does pimafix cause the fish to be really lethargic?
