Fish Tuberculosis. I've heard that some have died from it. But my understanding is humans can just die from marine fish TB, not freshwater fish TB That is correct. There are a few other very odd/rare ones. I know there is a fungus or bacteria (can't remember) that you can get (kind of like ring worm.) You get it from dirty water, and they thought that I had it. Turns out it was something else, took months to get rid of, and now I have a huge nasty scar on my leg that won't go away |

But you cant get the common disease such as white spot, fin rot etc? I had fin rot once. My tail has never been the same since On a serious note, no things like white spot and fin rot are specific to fish. There are things that you can pick up from water (especially if it is very dirty) and a few thing sthat can be transmitted from fish to humans. In general though as long as you wash your hands really well after they have been in the tank you will be ok. |
