Really not having a good day!!
#### job, boyfriend problems and to top it all off one of my zebra danios (in my established tank) is having real problems. I suspect swimbladder disease but I'm not sure. He's kinda spiralling to one side and is unable to stay upright. Its very distressing to watch sad1.gif
I only got him a couple of days ago. Is it swimbladder? Should I put an end to his suffering or do you think he can be cured? Can my other fish catch it?

sounds like he got internal injuries from being beat on. you could isolate him and see how he does. he may recover. had a dempsey that did. with the dempsey i put her in a tank all by herself with some antibiotics and salt. about a week later she was as good as new.

Really hope I can save him.
Problem is I don't have a another tank to put him in.
Would it be ok to put him in a breeding net? Its the only thing I can think of to isolate him. Would my other fish be ok if I put salt in the tank? I have tetras, guppies, zebra danios, halfbeaks and cories in there with him.

cores will not be able to handle the salt. as a last resort you could get one of the clear plastic tubs on the samll size from the store. put an airsotne and heater and some of the water from the tank he is in now and isolate him temporarily there for a week or so.

Its late on Friday night here but if he's still alive in the morning I'll go to my local pet store and give that a go.
Thanks Maggie smile.gif smile.gif

in the meantime i would try the breeder net. if he is being beat on that will keep teh aggressor away. also if he is on his way out cry1.gif it will keep the other fish from picking at him.
