My saltwater tank has been going quite well, but my maxima clam has a few aiptasia on him. I noticed at least one when I bought him, and tried scrubbing him off with a toothbrush, but he was deep inside a scalloped edge, so I didn't have much luck.
My understanding is aiptasia can't really sting a clam. I'm concerned to use kalk paste so close to the clam's intake siphon. Should I just leave them be? This post has been edited by eschaton: Jun 7 2008, 03:04 AM |

This may sound crazy but try your best to suck the aiptasia out with a turkey baster and get the clam to retract. Then coat the area the aiptasia's foot is in (and the surrounding area) with superglue. This should do the trick for ya

Could always leave it there. I have always had aiptasia and never really noticed a major problem with it.
