I got back last week from a week long photo assignment to document a summer camp for Pediatric Cancer patients. I had a blast being around those kids, they are so positive and uplifting and needless to say I no longer think my day to day problems are so though after spending a week with them.

I took this shot on the second day of the event. We hiked up a nearby mountain for this shot and I think it turned out nicely. This young girl (about 15 years old if I remember correctly) is just starting remission.

What I was trying for with this photograph was to symbolize that fighting cancer is a tough, uphill battle; you have to push and push and not stop but the end can be so beautiful. I hope that message is conveyed in this image!

I'm pretty happy with the way this photograph turned out, but what do you think?

Beautiful. It must have been so hard, yet so rewarding to be with those amazing kids.

Shear excellent, so poinient and thought provoking given the subject matter. " The Uphill Struggle". Having lost both parents recently to the dreaded "C" I can fully relate to your pic.
