Sometime soon, I'll be setting up a ten gallon tank, and hopefully planting it pretty well. The only fish in it will be a male Betta, and I was hoping to add a small pleco to help control the algae, but I'm not sure what will be comfortable in such a small tank. I know they create a ton of waste, and plan on vaccuming the gravel as needed. (And it will have a full filtering system, too, of course.)
I was thinking maybe a Pitbull Pleco, since they stay so small? I know that a Bulldog won't work, as they like cooler water, and Bettas like it warmer, so I've already crossed them off my list. I've also been looking at Clown and Butterfly plecos, but I think they might be too big? I guess it also depends on what the LFS has, too. I think they have Bristlenoses, but I'm not sure if that will be okay? I've had cories before, but never really had much algae because I used fake plants. Will they eat algae like a pleco? If they will, I guess I might be better off with a small school of cories? Any input would be greatly appreciated |

Yes, but I don't really think I want to bother with them. I've had them once before, and they're just so, well, 'delicate'.

Any input would be greatly appreciated cories dont eat algae they will eat leftover food sometimes. you are beter to have male betta on his own as they are far to unpredictible! it may leave the plec alone or it may attack it as soon as it enters the tank which is not fair on it |
