Hello im kind of new on here as you can see and i havent been keeping fish long, 3-4 months now. i have had 4 tanks in that space of time and now i have settled with just 2 i have a 130L planted community tank.
And for the ideas please people. My jewel Vision 260L All cycled and ready for fish. Currently housing 1 Rubber-nosed pleco (4 inches) and a Vampire pleco (5-6 inches). I was thinking Birchirs for breeding as im after a challenge but looking at prices for the more common larger birchirs in the south west of england (devon) im thinking maybe try something else to breed or just to look at. Im going to keep this tank to a bogwood only tank (Non-Brackish) with maybe one plant. Just looking for some ideas on how to stock this. Looking for fish i can buy juvi and watch grow and will have enough room when there adult. Cheers Jimbo |

i dont think you should commit to breedin bichirs. its just not likely to happen.
260litres, thats about 60 gallons right? errrrrrm... why not a couple of bichirs, hoping them to breed lol, a datnoid or 2 if they would fit and a few black ghost knife fish? |

Would birchirs go with Datnoid's?? and i dont think i've ever seen a black ghost knife fish in my life so will do some research. Cheers for the ideas keep them coming also 260L is 68.7G (US) 57.2G (UK) |

its all about personal taste. if you like the fish i mentioned earlier, go for them! lol
bichirs can be kept with datnoids. however, i feel that datnoids need a much bigger tank than what you have to offer. i would keep a polypterus delhezi or 2, some BGKs if you fancy them (or just the one, which i would then also presonally add an elephant nose), and a pair of oscars or similar sized cichlids of your choice. it all depends of what is available and what you fancy to watch grow |

a BGK = a Black Ghost Knife fish
when i was planning to get a 64gallon tank, i had this in mind; cichlids 2 x geophagus of some sort 2 x fire mouth cichlids 2 x dwarf cichlids of some sort (i had apistogramma cacatuoides on my list) 1 x angelfish oddballs 1 x black ghost knife fish catfish 1 x pictus catfish 3 x L134 plecos 8 x corydoras sterbai they're all amazonian fish... which i absaloutly love |

Are you planning on keeping the plecs?
I wouldn't do a dat, although slow growing they do get too big. The vision is awkward for larger fish, as its only 13" wide at the ends, but 18" wide at the middle. |
