Hi All, great fourm. I have been trying to find a decent fourm for ages now, looks just up my street!

anyhow, i was wondered if you can keep Peckoltia vittata with Malawi Cichlids (less aggessive), i keep hearing people on forums that have tried this with success, is it possible? confused.gif

Regards

I certainly wouldn't reccommend it, a Peckolita would live in near-permanent stress with Mbuna due to the aggression. The other big problem would be diet, Vittata need protein and prefer meaty foods, which is the opposite to most Mbuna who are either herbivores or omnivores. Most Mbuna's digestive systems simply cannot process protein, which if given in any quantity can lead to bloat and this is likely to be fatal.

A Bristlenose Plec would be a much better choice. good.gif

I'm not too sure of LFS in West Yorkshire but there are plenty of online places like Aquabid. Plenty in Manchester too if you fancy the trip! biggrin.gif

I've never had cause to but fish online myself so not too sure on who's good and who's not. Your best bet would be to make a new post in the Chit-Chat section for reccomendations as a i know a lot of members do buy fish this way. good.gif
