I bought some the other day from my lfs and it is growing very fast, about two inches in just a few days... however the leaves look like they are disintergrating and turning a bit yellow on some of the plants?
It seems strange to me that it would be growing so well but dieing at the time? Any ideas? |

What temperature water have you get them in? Egeria densa is essentially a cold water plant, so it won`t lookm its best in a tropical set up.
I had some that grew like mad, but it started to get leggy and brown stemmed lower down. |

Are you using excel? It don't like excel... I had to cut back on it, because it was melting my egeria.

It in a tropical set up. A couple of the shoots appear to be doing well but some are literally starting to disintergrate.
I use Plant Gro but thats all and I havn't put more in since the densa went in. I think I might throw it out and have a look at a background easy plant to replace it. Im not a huge fan of the way it looks anyway. My Hyrophila on the ohter hand is brilliant, growing just as fast but nice and bushy ! |

Mine is growing in 4 different tropical tanks. They range from 72 to 82 degrees. It grows fine for me. (very fast) It is one of my weeds to stop algae. It isn't for looks. I tend to try to hide it in the back behind other plants.

I have taken out the strands that weren't doing so well and kept the good ones. It might have been caused by the planting tightly so I have planted them quite losely, like you say it grows so fast that it is handy to have in the tank!
