Hi
I think i'm in the right section so i'll ask away.

My wife has a 50L tank. It is planted, has caves etc, and has 1-2 mm substrate. It has good flow and airation.
At present it houses cory's and a male betta.

Apart from oto's and chinese algea eaters are there any others which would suit the tank. I would think the max size of the fish would need to be 5 cm??

Thanks

I think otos are really your only option with the size of the tank and the betta in there. A CAE would get too large and can be aggressive.

otos first choice, but only if the tank is matured.
second choice would be Garra cambodgiensis
which quite happily live in groups of 3 or more or on their own (not in pairs)
third choice would be a Paraotocinclus maculicauda
