Nice timing on the candy striped gobie article in the fish index.
I just bought some yesterday.I've never seen them before. I also got a Butterfly sand loach.Never seen this one before either but it's an algae eater. |

FYI, the butterfly loach, aka hillstream loach, is a coldwater fish and should not be kept in tropical aquariums and needs very high oxygen concentration...the temperature should range preferably from 65-70 and max of 75....

Thanks for the Butterfly loach info but my newbie looks nothing like that. The guy in the aquatic shop did say he'd worked there ages and never seen these before and he thought they may be mislabeled.
There were other gobies for sale called violet gobies but i didn't get any as they looked abit aggressive but then i may be wrong.I settled on the candy striped instead. |

well are you at least interested in finding out what kind of fish it is so you can provide a healthy living environment? since there is no butterfly sand loach, i am guessing it is something else - maybe a type of flounder?
![]() this is bloozoo2's picture (i hope i am aloud to do this so please edit my post if not) of a freshwater flounder -does it look anything like that? http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Oddbal338.jpg that is a regular sand loach - does it look like that....maybe that type of loach with long fins (sometimes long-finned fish are called "butterfly")? http://www.loaches.com/species_pages/schistura_mahnerti.html burmese-border sand loach ^^ a pic would help if youd like to find out what it is! |
