i was at the wall to wall mart today and noticed they are selling senegal bichirs labeled as dinosaur eels.is that another name for them as i've never heard them called that.mine was sold to me as a polypterus.and don't worry,i have never bought a fish from the wall to wall mart.

my bichir is about 6 in now,i forgot how cute they are when they're little.mine actually scares some people.it makes me laugh.

recently i've been seeing bichirs with stomachs like this. ate something well, too big. there's one video on youtube where a senegal ate a live shrimp. not pretty.

I have one that is about 10in. He can take down whole beef heart cubes. You would be amazed at what they can take down
