I love their colors, but never see any to buy or haven't known anyone that keeps them. I have read a few articles about them but was wanting some of your opinions and expertise on these little guys.

I tried them once but never bothered again due to their short life span, most only live 9 months to a year sad.gif There are a few assosiations (sp) out there any many have sites where you can buy dried eggs on line,a quick search on google under killie fish should find a few for you.

Most information ive read says they are easy to spawn but i was unsucessful, either that or the eggs were too small for me to see laugh.gif You will be able to hatch the eggs in a 5 gallon tank by adding some water from another tank.

Haven't kept any, yet. I have asked around a bit to see what would be involved. I was basically told that if you had soft water, and a quiet spot to put a spare 5-10 gallon tank with some java moss in it, you would pretty much be sucessfull. They do need good clean water, which means plenty of water changes. They also do well on live or frozen foods. If I were you, I would get guardneri (sp?) species. They are very beautiful and easily bred. These are the kind that you put them in water, they lay eggs, and you leave the eegs submerged. There's no removing them to be kept in a cool, moist, dark, quiet area in a butter tub. In other words, they are much easier to keep.
