Hi, I am new here and am looking for some advice. My tank is 48 x 18 x 18 i have 1 bgk, 4 angels, 1 ruby shark, 2 bristle noses and 3 hetchett fish. My newest angel has come down with tail rot, so i have treated the tank with myxazin, I moved the tank around too so the angel fish don`t get aggresive to the new 1 and now i have noticed that the BGK is out more the last few days and seems to have a white velvet patches and it`s underside fin has 2 breaks in it. Would the ruby shark be bullying him? I hear they can be sensitive to med`s, would this have affected him?

I've got a black ghost that I've had a couple of years and hes been in about 4 tanks since I've had him and is now settled in my big one. He's been kept with angels in my sons tank as well. He was fine with them. I suspect that things will settle down and his fins will seal up again. Mine gets that every now and again as he shares a piecew of wood with a large L114 plec.
The white velvety sheen may be an indicator of your water more than anything and I would do a decent water change and keep on top of it good luck with him they are great fish |

If memory serves myxazine should be half dosed with scaleless fishes such as loach, momyrids and knifefish as it can cause them extreme stress, i know its not helpfull now but check the label in anycase, just in case, for future reference

Hi, Yes i found out after the knife fish died that I should only give a half dose and put more airation in. Great finding this out after he died! Now i m wondering what to do with my tank, as it was all for the knife fish. Now i am not sure what to do???? I like having big fish, but i like a properly do tropical fish tank with big sholes of little fish and not just 5 of this fish two of that and so on.
