I would go for Synodontis catfish, either Multipunctatus or Petricola. They are from Lake Tanganyika but are much at home in a Malawi setup.I have 4 in my tank and they are great to watch, out and about during the day.A few people use Bristlenose plecs in their tanks also.

Bristlenose are better because they are tough get the job done and the other fish know not to mess with them.

Is that a Green Terror back there (looks like you're looking for some "blender action")? Just don't over feed. Since you're not running a strict (or close to) water perameters of either fish (or are you?). Pleco's will do your windows as well as extra foods. Synos will just eat extra (and your cichlids) food.

Melanochromis Chipokae - arguably the most aggressive Mbuna species there is - you have been warned. biggrin.gif

i have a completely empty tank, taking my sweet time in deciding the occupants, maybe a species tank then biggrin.gif
Are there two colour morphs of M. chipokae? because most of the pictures and profiles i see on the net show a very blue cichlid, but some like this picture show a purple hue.

Mature fish have both blue and purple colouration. Purple is the dominant colour in adults though.
