Fighting Fish

new to all this ive went and put 3 fighting fish in my tank 1 male 2 female will they kill each other and my other fish plz help. kate

most likely yes.

what other fish do you have in with them? if i were you i would take at least the 2 females back to the shop, if not them then the male!! unless you are prepared to go out and buy them there own tank? they should really be kept on their own in seperate tanks (male/female) in my experience.

Females can be kept in community tanks, preferably about 5/6.

The male needs to be on his own, in at least a 3g tank, with a heater and filter.

I would take the male back unless you have a spare tank for him.

Watch them closely. I tried putting a betta (fighting fish) in with my corries. He was fine with them for about a day, but after that he sttarted to harras my other fish so I had to take him out. luckly no one got hurt. From what I've heard, it is best to male bettas away from other battas, even if they are female. Good luck

This is why researching before buying is so important; your LFS may not always take fish back.

you should have wondered why they wernt all in the same tank at the lfs ( which they shouldnt have been)
