I"m looking into getting a new filter for my 10 gallon, this crappy little whipser that came with the tank just isnt cutting it. I was thinking a Penguin Bio-Wheel but what does everyone else use?

When looking at them, you might think about whether the manufacturer is trying to lock you into a structure that more or less forces you to buy their maintenance inserts. That gets tiring over time and the more general, open designs start to feel better because you can switch to different types of media that you may come to need. If I recall correctly, some of the AquaClear designs can be used more openly like this. Of course a proprietary insert isn't so bad if its materials last a long time!
