i wanted to know where you got your small heater from (the one you put under the gravel) and what make it is?

its the same for me, cant access.

i saw them on ebay earlier. it says it maintains the water temp at 2oC above the ambient room temprature, so presumebly they do not heat to a specific temprature and maintain it there. please correct me if im wrong mel. i was going to buy one but as it said that i decided not to.

you cannot control the temp on these but i find that they are good and have them in my spawning tanks. I have ordered 3 more from my LFS

Yeah well, they increase the temp by more depending on the tank size, if it's a smaller tank will get warmer from the ambient

I recommend them for anything under 3 gallons (12 litres), anything over that use a Visi Therm 25W heater for 12-25 litre tanks, because it has a thermostat. Saying THAT, the Visi Therm is also good for 3 gallon bowls, because of the large surface area, it's better controlled. Hope that makes sense!
