Yeah, I agree, they are getting a lovely colour. When they are juvenilles, they look so bland. Ugly duckling syndrome eh?

I have the same problem when I tank pictures of my Bleeding Heart Tetras, the colors don't look nearly as nice as they do in person!

How many did you pick up in the end?

Groups of less than six may well be problematic. If you picked up two males (and they're nigh impossible to sex), then the bickering will be almost constant.. to the point that the subdominant fish won't compete for food as well, won't grow as quickly and so on. If you picked up a male and a female, you just have to hope they pair up. If you picked up more than two fish, it's not such a big problem, but keep an eye out. When I was keeping only three S. daemon, the smallest one had to be removed in to a separate tank twice to heal up, it had been battered so regularly by the dominant fish.

It'll seem just like the odd chase here and there, but if you watch, it's quite regular. It's not really a problem unless one fish is getting specifically, regularly picked on.

Either way, they're looking great.. can't wait to see some pictures of them a couple months down the line drool.gif
