OK, have been having a few little talks with you guys about what to do with my tank (260l).

Was hoping to get away with Tetraplant due to the cost of other substrates but will see how much I manage to save up rolleyes.gif

Here is my lovely empty tank:

My challenge to you guys is (as I'm so lazy):

Help me to aquascape my tank - I'd like it to remain natural looking with rocks and stones etc.

I'm just not sure on the plants, would like longs plants at the back, a few patches of short plants along the gravel but that wont spread across the whole tank and some lovely coloured plants. I've only ever kept plants in a small tank before and to be honest dont really know what they are so would like some fairly easy to care for plants in there!

Lastly I promise to add all of this to a journal as soon as I can afford to buy the substrate and my EX1200!

Thank you so much in advance

Vicki

aquarium substrates for large tanks tend too get very expensive a viable option is the use of Akadama a specialist bonsai substrate. i used it after it was recommended by Jamesc on ukaps. its cheap and is i great for heavy root feeders such as crypts. in a 260ltr you would need 2 maybe 3 bags.

i buy mine from this guy : http://www.makebonsai.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=101 and they deliver

Thanks, that would certainly work out cheaper - Does anyone else have any views on using this?
