I was wondering, what kind of fish can I put in with my male swordtail and female swordtail? unsure.gif I dont want to put any mollies or plays in,because my male swordtail kills them sad.gif .......What other kinds of fish can I put in with them?I also was wondering if it is a good idea to put new fish in the tank while my female is pregnant?.....I dont want to stress her out so that she wont have the fry,so I need to know whether it's a good idea to put new fish in the tank or to move her.......

Please help me out,I want her to have the fry sad1.gif

in that case IMO 10 gal is too small for 1 sword let alone 2

its a sword tail not a swordfish. they could be fit into a 10g but not any more than 4-5. but then again its all about preference.

swordtails cannot reach 3", females max out at 2" and males 1.5" with a posiblity of a 1.5" tail. even then the tail wont affect how many fish you can add.

Providing your a decent fish keeper thats doing the normal good practice around maintenance etc, there's no way a swordtail is too big for a 10 gallon tank unless its some kind of mutant swordtail thats 8" long, even a few Swordtails is perfectly acceptable.

EDIT: at least it was said with IMO and for people that dont spend hours on the internet that actually means "in my opinion" which is important to add, as thankfully the poster is expressing her opinion which can be disregarded if wanted, i guess she just prefers seeing Swordtails in big tanks

No offence to anyone, my opinion here can be disregarded too, up to Original Poster, but its good to see a thread take some balance and not get left with one opinion that a x1 swordtail in a 10 gallon is too much

In terms of the post at the top, if you want the fry and dont want to take too many chances, why dont you just leave it be, or am i missing something?

Or what about x2 more Female Swordtails ?

I take it that would make a total of x4 fish in the 10 gallon?
