This morning I saw a fry in the tank and netted it up, I knew which fish it was as well because I'd been watching her for a couple of days. I got out the digital camera and missed several opportunities to snap pictures of fry coming out, messing up the timing, now I have quite a good sense of timing it appears almost that there is like a spike (the tail) which comes out just 3 or 4 seconds before she gives birth giving a key clue she'll also speed up the beating of her fins
 Altogether spent 2 minutes of film on my digital camera and wasted about half an hour trying to get the pictures. I've now got about 25 of her fry in the breeding net as she gave birth in the community tank and because I liked her colours I wanted to try and raise some offspring like her.

WoW!!!! I love it I love it I love it!!! She looks just like one of guppy girlies. Watching that made me feel all tingly inside! I love nature, that was awsome William! I'm gonna have to hire you to come and film my births!

Wow, Very cool . My female White sailfin Molly looks as if she's gonna pop any day. Is there any way to know or symptoms to look for or should I put her in one of them breeder float tanks

I'm glad I came across this Forum.
I was trying to find out how I would know what to expect when the female guppies give birth and when I saw that clip, I was excited.  Right now I have two Guppies, one male and one female. I had a couple of questions about them and couldn't find the answer anywhere. One of my question was how would I know when the female is giving birth. Another thing I would like to know is how do I know if they are mating and if they are just playing.  The male guppy is obviously younger than the female(I bought them seperate time and at that time I didn't realized how small the male was until I brought home the female). The male guppy seem to stick around with the female so I couldn't tell if he was flirting with her or bothering her or playing with her. Also I would like to know, how do I know if she is pregnant? She looks big when I got her, but I don't know if that is just the size she is as full grown adult or did she got pregnant when I bought her.As you can tell, I'm new with this whole thing. I have a small tank for now, will be getting a biger one later. I used to have a Beta fish but passed away not too long ago.  Any information would be great. Thanks!
