ok well i recently noticed that my eldest female guppy was swimming very funny, breathing real heavy, and she had a red spot on her side. Im thinking it was an internal infection but i would really like someone to clarify it for me. If so, what can I do to help her?

the next problem is with my platys. its really wierd but the tails of my platys have like scrunched up and they wont come undone. i dont know if that makes sense to anyone or not but thier tails arent fanned out like a normal platy. theres another problem too. one of my platys has recently died and he had a scrunched up tail but he also had a drooping back. it was very strange and i think i see it happening to a couple of my other platys also. any comments or suggestions on what i should do will be greatly appriciated.

thanks in advance,

amanda.

what are your water stats?

the bent tail could be tb, the clamped up fins is a sign of stress/disease but more a generic symptom ratehr than anything specific. the red spot could be a bacterial infection.

Have you got any pics of both fish. Would help to give a positive ID of what is wrong. But it is possible that the guppy could have a bacterial infection.
I'd add some stress zyme and stress coat into the tank to keep her stress levels down until we know whats wrong! This would also benifit you platy.

what are your water stats?(fine is not a response) smile.gif
how often do you change the water?

To be honest stress coat and stress zyme is rubbish. I find tetra and nt miles better. Use NT labs diseaolve it worked for me!
