Would it bpossible to cross a guppy with a mosquitofish? (gambusia affinis)

I want to know before I mix them together. But If I don't lol my snakeskin gourami might swallow them.

I do believe it's possible.. but you have to do male gambusia to female guppy, as the female gambusia are usually larger and more aggressive..

I think that's how it's done..

Definately possible, but the female gambusia are very agressive and will definately kill your guppies. The male gambusia are not quite as visious as the females, but still have the tendancy to nip and harass.

i definitely wouldn't hybridize endlers and gambusia, simply due to the dramatic size differences between females in each species.

if you cross male endler to female gambusia, then you'll get a dead endler due to the high aggression of the female gambusia.

if you cross female endler to male gambusia, then you'll get a dead or damaged endler due to internal organ compression during the pregnancy. female endlers aren't even remotely the same size as female gambusia thus they wouldn't have room to carry full-sized gambusia fry (this is without considering the possibility of "hybrid vitality")

Wow thanks I was about to put in 2 small male gambusia with my endler trio(not as a hybrid experiment though), ill just leave them where they are I think.

Don't worry I never even got endlers or gambusia. I captured some gambusia in Gerogia, but then I decided to leave them in their natural habitat.

Livebearers crosses are difficualt and need to be clearly documented.

A Gambusia and endler would not resualt in fry, these are two comleatly differnt genuses of fish and the gonopodium structre is wronge.

To cross u need 2 species of a simular genus.

Guppies and mollys are the same genus, but still rarely cross and have only ever seen 1 documented photo.
Ditto for endler molly cross

Why?

Just look at the structure of the gonopoduim and explain?
