Just yesteday I made a comment on how I thought my falx might still be too young and didn't seem all that interested in breeding just yet. One pair had been doing a little courting, but I had yet to see them actually begin spawning. That is, until I came home from work last night to see a pair of my falx spawning. I must have caught them at the tail end of the activities, but I did get to witness a few embraces and see the female scoop up the egg, spit it at the male, and the male grab it up in his mouth, three times. I chose not to take pictures at that point, didn't want to disturb them. But the day before, when they had been dancing about and making me think that maybe, just maybe they MIGHT spawn, I snapped off a ton of pictures. Thought I'd share a choice few:

He is sporting the chipmunk cheeks. This is their very first spawning attempt, mine too, so keep your fingers crossed for us that it is a success.
