Hoping to get Dwarf Gourami's in my new Juwel Rekord 70, i was told the male could get aggressive with another male or female, i don't want any trouble or breeding, and i wanted to keep the number of them at 2 (or possibly 3). Can anyone work out the sort of ratio?
Please advise!

Thanks!

just get 2 males because they are colourful. Have lots of floating plants in the tank to provide them with territories and they should be ok.

Dwarf Gouramis should be kept a 1 male per 2 females or if you only want males then at least 3

male dwarf gouramis are colourful (red or blue or red & blue striped)
females are silver sometimes with very faint stripes.

Make sure you've got another tank you can put one in if they start to fight.

Thats how they are often sold, but the male can sometimes harass the female a lot

I kept one male with one female, and yes, the male really harassed the female too much sad.gif

I've also found that females are MUCH harder to find in stores.
