Generally, if the bourdry of two colors on a fish is very obvious and clear, it will not fade or change. Otherwise , mostly the red will fade. or if the fish is black will trun to yellow or white |

He looks almost exactly like mine.....which is medium going on large. He was the best looking one in the bunch when I bought him. The red and white is still the way it was when I bought him at a smaller size. Make sure you feed him high quality food. Right now, among other things, I'm feeding mine a staple of Hikari Oranda Gold.
Nice fish and good luck with him/her in the future. |

He's so cute. I use to have a 'oranda' but when I put him in my tank with my female fantail ater a 2 weeks he became crazy and died.

Here are the ryukin colors that I've seen: Red (or Orange) Red/White Red/Black White Black Blue (Silver) -- video at Aquarama 2007 Calico (Red/White/Black) Tri-color (Red/White/Black) Yellow Yellow/Black White/Black -- here's a video of one at this year's Aquarama Chocolate (Brown) and probably more that I'm not remembering just now, as well obscure and rare ones like Green So, pretty much almost all of the same colors as all goldfish can come in, surprise, surprise. I think the only goldfish coloration that I haven't seen on a ryukin is the blue/chocolate combo. The reds, red/whites, and calicos are by far the most common. Edit: adding more colors as I think of them Edit: added video for blue This post has been edited by SnBMeg: Jun 6 2007, 12:33 PM |

I'm not making any of it up in the least. All of those are colors that I have seen either in person or in photographs. I could try finding photos and links to post for each one, I guess, like I did with the white/black. ;p
