....I have no knowledge of either.....but a spare 13 litre tank which is currently cycled, however I want to change substrate, etc to make it a suitable home for whichever of these are best......

So what do you knowledgable people recommend? The tank is currently at 24 degrees celcius and is filtered, but I can change this if needs be......which do you recommend, and how do I set up the tank best for them.....

(oh and how many??)

I would get ADFs as you can have a much nicer set up, with crabs you have to fill the tank half way which doesn't look so nice and also you cant have plants. Also I'm biased because I have ADFs, they have brilliant personalities, they're really good fun to watch and feel a lot more like "pets" than other tank animals. In a 13 litre I would say you could keep 2-4 frogs, many would say that that is too many but the fact is they sepnd their whole time lying on top of eachother anyway as they seem to really like eachother's company. Just so long as you do regular water changes and have a decent filter.

Frogs would like lots of plants (they seem to hand out in them) and hiding spaces, I have a piece of bogwood in my tank and they like to hide under that with their little heads poking out.

They eat bloodworm, tubifex etc. but are quite slow so definitely best in a species only tank. If you always put their food in the same place they quickly learn to go straight there as soon as you put the food in and they're very cute to watch eat so make sure you put the food in the frount of the tank so you can see!!

Anyway I wont jabber anymore but if you want anymore info just ask!

I agree, ADF's are the way to go! They are so funny to watch and it is great to see them eating bloodworm - mine suck it in like spaghetti!

ADF all the way! They are so fun to watch! Maybe even add a Betta for a little color? I used to have a setup like that and it was beautiful. It's so fun to watch the frogs eat. I fed mine brine shrimp and they would go nuts. Be sure that you read up on the differences between ADF's and thier friend African Clawed Frogs... very different little froggies and it's sometimes hard to tell them apart when they are young.

I'd also say ADF.

With the crabs, you'll likely to have to change your entire setup.

wicked ADF's it looks like then, to be honest I was half in mind of a new betta setup, so it might be that i go buy an aqua qube 25 and use that for the new setup, just keep the 13 litre as a spare, hospital...QT smile.gif
