My male 'blue lobster' (in a well-planted, 4 foot community tank he shares with loads of fish) has never liked the slate caves I provided for him. They are either too small, or far too big; in a bad neighbourhood; lacking a decent view; or he doesn't like the southerly aspect..!
So he built himself a new designer home under a huge chunk of tuffa rock. But – never satisfied – as he expanded outwards, the gravel foundations under the rock gave way, and the roof got lower and lower, until he can't fit under it any more.
He is now all over the tank, dragging back the largest pebbles he can find to the ruins of his old home.
What the hell is he doing? Can I help him, or should I just leave him alone to get on with it? Should I put one of the old slate caves back in? Any Blue Lobster psychologists out there..! laugh.gif
