Just thought i'd share my flower shrimp with you , he costs me a whole 25$ at the LFS but he was worth it, i'm actually wanting to buy another one so he can have a companion.. or she... Basically he just sits undernearth the piece of driftwood all day.. using his little claws to pick out micro organic stuff in the water. He's a fast litle guy..when doing a transfer it took a long time to catch him. Today i got some java moss so i had to pick him off his log.. and he crawled up my arm i was ilke AHHHH hahah..

If you ever get a chance to get one do it.. he's a really good creature.

He actually changes colors based on his day and his environment.. the pictures you see are when he's just camo into the wood.. other days he's a bright orange or red.

Any questions regarding him i'll gladely answer.

wish i could put better pics on but i had to crop these so much !!!

This guy was well worth it, pretty rare around these parts of Britsh columbia.

He's about... 3 - 4 inches now, pretty much as big as he's goign to get.

This guy dosnt climb up near the powerhead which is a good thing, he likes his planted tank smile.gif

He's a great companion...

they are 4$ whre you live that's crazy....... i would buy like 10 lol

I think you guys might be talking about a diff variety of shrimp

like a ... Cherry shrimp or somthing i know those are fairly cheap but what makes these guys unique to make them 25$ each is they have little claws that open up likea fan... and they strain the water...

Very unique shrimp...
or maybe i just got ripped off smile.gif

i used to have a few of them, make sure you plug all the gaps in your lid (wire holes etc.). as soon as you have a bit of nitrAte build up (can happen) they will try to escape. i lost all of mine and found one in the lounge, one in the bathroom and 2 in the bedroom.

they are quite the adventurers.
