wondering if anyone can give me any info on these fish, they have some in our lfs and they're stunning, think they'd be lovely in my 10g with microrasbora galaxy. Been good and not impulse bought, but my research i.e. google is coming up pretty much blank (well at least blank for webpages written in a language that i speak).

I'm pretty sure they should be OK, the tanks fairly heavily planted and there's nothing to be a threat to them in there. But just to be doubly sure please give me any info you have on these little dudes!

female reaches 3.5 cm male can reach 4cm
does best in pH range: 6.5 – 7.0 with gH 10
best temp range 25 – 28°C
keep in groups of 5 or more

should make ideal companions for galaxy rasboras

yeah i'd read that article, just struggled to find a species requirement thingmybob

reckon they'd cope with a slightly higher pH.... the tanks about 7.2 i think... will double check it tonight though

our LFS has some in, and our mate who runs it knowing i've just set up a microrasbora tank pointed them out to me. they're absolutely stunning and sooooo tiny, they make my galaxies look big!




will do thanks Wolfy.... checked the pH and it's definately 7.2, I think it'll probably be OK though, if I remember rightly the lfs's pH is the same and they're doing fine there.

I got some of these about a month ago, they're lovely little fish, about half an inch long at the moment. They are thriving in my tank (pH7.0, GH8) so my conditions are right for them. The only thing is, I'm not sure they are Boraras brigittae! I've found a website that says they are very similar to B urophthalmoides, and mine seem to have characteristics of both. I suppose I'll have to wait until they're big enough to see properly. Even with a magnifying glass, they're too small to see clearly.

I have a group of about 20 at the moment, lovely things. The problem with googling is that the species has only recently been moved to the genus Boraras, if you search for Rasbora brigittae you'll get a lot more hits.
