£30 for 3 sterbai, your havin a larf mate laugh.gif

laugh.gif Ok, 3 sterbai 2 females and 1 male, They regularly produce around 300 eggs each, Now if your extreemly unlucky and only half of those survive you now have 300 sterbai juveniles on your hand, My fish shop gives me a third of what they sell them for and thats just around £1.50 Each. They take all 300 normally and i get approximately £450.

Now You just spent £30 on the three fish that leaves you with £420 left

in a months feeding Plus fry you spent £50, Wow thats alot of food (Probably over estimated) Leaves you with £370 Profit

electricity, Water and other costs Over estimated at £20 Leaves you with

£300 Pounds profit and theres still next month to go.

Now please tell me how £30 is a ridiculous price to ask ?

So you can raise the fry to a saleable size within a month?

I dont see why any lfs would pay £1.50 for a cory....
As they can get them on import for pennies each good.gif

TBH why respond to a topic if you aint got nothing positive to say and dont intend to buy them, give this person a break and allow people to do their own business and mind your own. If you think im rude by saying this then think about how rude it is to jump on a thread with negative crap..........you must be bored senseless. There has been quite a few people who have had temp ban from using this section for exactly what you are doing. Im not disputing that the price is fair but im just pointing out something that not needed.

and yes before you say i used to do exactly the same thing but after actually getting to know some people on here i now realize that it was wrong for me to do that to them.

I wouldnt say £30 was too bad, seeing they are a breeding trio.

Sterbai are about £8 each here and thats for small ones, these are mature and spawning. Plus I used to ell my C. trilineatus for £1.50 to £2.00 to a not so lfs, and they had 300eggs at a time, unlike the documented 10 that everyone reads about.

I'd take them if I had room sad.gif good luck with the sale, and p[lease stop the bickering if you think its too much dont buy them w00t.gif good.gif

Of course i cant raise fry to a saleable size within a month, but after a while when your rotating your tanks, you have fry for sale every month at the right size.
My lfs pays me £1.50 For a cory because they care about fish and their customers. Why buy imports when 25% of them arrive dead and the possibility of disease runs high in them. Also why put fish through the stress of transport for 2 days, and having them probably subjected to hormones on there travel to increase colour and make them sterile. Local breeders provide a cheap enough stock, with the benefits of little transportation stress and fully healthy disease free fish.

Oh and thanks guys good.gif

Ok, sorry for jumping on you, It didn't mean to come accross like that good.gif

I didn't think of the possability of rotating multiple tanks, after a few spawns rolleyes.gif

Although I didn't say once that I thought they were too much smile.gif

Anyway, good luck with the sale, if someone could see the potential profit to be made cool.gif

Breeding pair of wild pelvicachromis taeniatus (moliwe) £30

Any flexibility on the price of these? And are they a proven pair? I've had a pair of pelvicachromis signatus in the past and for love nor money, I could not get them to breed.

If they are proven parents, what water conditions have they bred in?
